About Us - Money Mambas

About Us

Here in Africa, there is a snake with a fierce reputation.

The Black Mamba!

It is aggressive, takes what it wants, goes where it wants and can reach 14 feet in length.

The black mamba is also one of the fastest snakes in the world, the strike is blindingly fast and super accurate. A single drop of it’s venom can kill 20 adults within 20 minutes.

Slithering at speeds of up to 12mph , humans cannot outrun it. In short, a Mamba is a master at what it does and I want you to become a master at money.

A Mamba at money!

Money Mambas was created by me, Jan Roos to share the things that I’ve learned about money over the years.

In 2012 I quit my waiter job in California to focus full time on my online business that was starting to take off. I ran two websites at that time.

The one was about Bread machines where i provided reviews and other information about all of the different bread makers on the market. I was also sharing recipes on the site.

The other site was about Garbage Disposals. Amazon’s affiliate program pays around 8% in commissions for each sale one refers to them.

Since most bread makers and Garbage Disposals were costing around $200 each, I was earning around $16 commission per sale. My website were ranking well on Google and I quickly made enough money to quit my dreaded waiter job.

The rest they say, is history. I have since built many different online businesses and bought two offline businesses as well. I have made a lot of money and lost a lot of money as well.

I’ve been fortunate to travel the world while working from my laptop and currently live in my home country of South Africa, with my wife and two young boys.

My other passion is investing and getting to the point of financial freedom.

Financial freedom to me, means to have my investments create enough money to live off for the rest of my life without HAVING to work again.

I’ll probably always work on some sort of project because I enjoy it. It’s the thought of not HAVING to work anymore that excites me.

The best path in my opinion to get to financial freedom is to focus on earning more money instead of always trying to pinch pennies for everything.

Ask any rich person if they got rich from skipping $5 Lattes on their way to work every morning. No, you don’t get financially free that way.

You get financially free by focusing on earning as much money as you can and then investing the excess money into a variety of investments such as cash producing businesses, stocks, real estate, Fine art etc.

It is important to understand that I am not qualified to give financial advice and that everything on this blog is my own opinion and you should speak to a professional before making any big financial decisions.

I hope you enjoy the blog.
